How Etsy fees work
- $0.20 listing fee per item. A listing lasts four months, and Etsy charges it again when it renews.
- 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge.
- Payment processing (US, Etsy Payments): 3% + $0.25 on the total, including shipping and sales tax.
- Offsite Ads: when a sale comes from an Etsy ad on another site, 15% of the order, capped at $100. Shops with $10,000+ in sales over the past year pay 12%; the calculator uses 15%.

Questions
How much are Etsy’s fees on a sale?
For a $40 item with no shipping or tax: $0.20 listing + $2.60 transaction (6.5%) + $1.45 processing (3% + $0.25) = $4.25, so you keep $35.75.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the shipping you charge, and payment processing applies to the whole order, including shipping and sales tax.
What are Etsy Offsite Ads fees?
If a sale comes from an Etsy ad shown on another site, Etsy charges 15% of that order (12% for shops with $10,000+ in yearly sales), capped at $100. You only pay it on sales from those ads.
How much does it cost to list on Etsy?
$0.20 per listing. It renews every four months, and again when an item sells from a listing with more in stock.
